An ensemble cast tells the story of Pippin, a young prince who longs to find passion and adventure in his life. He seeks it in the glories of the battlefield, the temptations of the flesh and the intrigues of political power. In the end, though, Pippin finds that happiness lies not in extraordinary endeavors, but rather in the unextraordinary moments that happen every day.
With music and lyrics by Stephen Schwartz, Pippin opened on Broadway in 1972 where it ran for almost 2,000 performances and received five Tony Awards. The 2013 revival received four Tony Awards including Best Revival of a Musical.
