Limelight Theater
Limelight provides a unique theater experience for our audiences. We present a variety of quality shows in an intimate cabaret-style space. While in our former Gilroy venue, we used a “thrust stage” layout, bringing the audience even closer to the action, with seating just two tables deep, on three sides of the stage. At our new Morgan Hill venue (read more below), we have even more flexibility to transform the space. We also are proud of our state of the art lighting system, thanks to a generous 2020 grant from the Gilroy Foundation.
Our “Bring Your Own Dinner & Wine” (or have it catered) offer encourages friends and to-be-friends to mingle and enjoy the ambience and camaraderie of the environment. We also offer a full bar, with a selection of beers, wines and cocktails to enjoy with dinner or during the performance. To accommodate eating or drinking before the show, our box office opens 1 1/4 hours before curtain.
NEW LIMELIGHT THEATER! SVCT is delighted to announce that, after a year without a second venue for Limelight plays (formerly at the Gilroy Center for the Arts), we have moved into an intimate new space in Morgan Hill. The January 2025 opening performance of Dear Jack, Dear Louise quickly sold out and garnered rave reviews.
LOCATION & SPACE: The new Limelight Theater is located at 16300 Condit Road. It is a small building on the east side of Condit Road, just north of the Morgan Hill Aquatics Center (between Dunne and Tennant). Park at the north end of the Aquatics Center and walk north through the gate, following the red carpet to the theater entrance. The building has several small rooms that can be configured in a number of creative ways that maximize the audience’s immersive experience. With our new venue, we are again encouraging our patrons to bring or order in dinner while they mingle with friends and t0-be-friends. We also again offer a full bar before the show and at intermission.
GOING FORWARD! We anticipate offering two small plays a year at our new Limelight Theater (typically scheduled for late summer and mid-winter) and a third , larger, play (in the spring) at the Morgan Hill Community Playhouse. (This is in addition to the four musicals we also present annually at the Playhouse.)

NEW Limelight Theater

Intimate Performance Space

Emily Shem-Tov, Limelight Managing Director
Emily is thrilled to carry on the tradition of quality dinner theater entertainment that Kevin Heath and Alan Obata established and provided for 9 years and to work to build on the amazing work that Robin Bezanson did for Limelight’s most recent seasons. Emily is a life-long theater lover and has been involved in all aspects of the “front of house” in dozens of local productions over the past few years as she supports her daughters in their on-stage and theater tech adventures. She’s excited to be a part of the Limelight family and to continue to help to provide a relaxed atmosphere and entertaining shows for new and returning audiences.

Peter Mandel, Limelight Executive Director
Peter has been involved in local theater for many years, as an actor and designer in productions throughout the Bay Area (including Limelight). He is a leader within SVCT, having served on SVCT’s Board for many years, including 4 years as President. Peter acts as the Limelight liaison to the SVCT Board. Peter led the effort within SVCT to explore assuming management of Limelight so to not lose this source of wonderful entertainment for our community. And when SVCT subsequently lost Limelight’s lease in Gilroy, he explored alternatives venues before settling on creating the new Limelight Theater in Morgan Hill. He is confident that Limelight’s best years are yet to come.
