Based on the hit 1994 Disney movie and Broadway musical and adapted for young performers, Disney’s The Lion King, Jr. is the timeless tale of Simba, a young lion born to be king, who is forced to flee the Pride Lands after his uncle Scar kills his father Mufasa. Guided by Rafiki and new friends Timon and Pumbaa, Simba learns about identity, family, responsibility, and what he has to do in order to make things right for the Pride Lands. Featuring classic songs like “I Just Can’t Wait to Be King,” “Circle of Life” and “Hakuna Matata,” the entire family will enjoy the perfect theatrical spectacle that is The Lion King, Jr.

*Oct 10 Matinee: “Sensory Friendly” Performance Explained
The typical theater experience can be too intense for some potential patrons. Audience members sit in the dark and are expected to be quiet, the music can seem loud, and stage lighting can be overwhelming. Our sensory-friendly performance gives everyone the opportunity to experience The Lion King Jr. with the lights turned up and the volume turned down. This becomes a safe and understanding environment where our guests are free to express themselves. Audience members can relax and enjoy quality family time without worrying if someone will complain or be disturbed by noise or movement.
Sensory Friendly matinees provide a friendly supportive environment for families with loved ones with special needs or young children who cannot sit through an entire show without moving or being a little loud. They may also be suitable for youth who have not attended live theater before and might not know what to expect. These special shows feature brighter auditorium lighting and lower audio levels. There are also relaxed house rules; guests are free to get up, move around, and leave whenever they need to.
