Join SVCT in unwrapping the magic of Irving Berlin’s White Christmas! Inspired by the iconic 1954 film, this dazzling Broadway musical is packed with show-stopping numbers, heartwarming romance, and timeless holiday cheer. Join Bob and Phil, two charismatic army buddies turned song-and-dance sensations, as they team up with a pair of talented sisters to save a snow-dusted Vermont inn — and find love along the way. Featuring Berlin’s unforgettable classics like “Blue Skies,” “I Love a Piano,” and the show-stopping “White Christmas,” this feel-good spectacle sparkles with holiday spirit.

Audition Dates

  • Sunday, August 16, 1-8 pm
  • Callbacks Sunday, August 23, 1-4 pm, by invitation only

Rehearsals and Performances

  • Regular rehearsals are planned for Sundays, 6-9 pm and Mondays through Thursdays (7-10 pm) at SVCT’s Warehouse (16842 Joleen Way #G2, Morgan Hill), starting September 28. After we move to the Playhouse (starting November 15), rehearsals will be longer.
  • Evening Performances:  November 27; December 4, 11, 12, 18 at 8 pm
  • Matinee Performances:  November 29; December 5, 6, 13, 19, 20 at 2:3o pm

Audition Details

Please carefully review our audition information packet. It contains all details regarding rehearsal and performance schedules as well a a list of roles we will be casting.

Complete an online audition form. The form will also give you the opportunity to upload a headshot and resume. Alternatively, you may complete a printable form, bringing it to your audition along with a headshot and list of conflicts.

Scheduling and Preparing for Your Audition

    1. Register for an audition slot or contact the producer at whitechristmas@svct.org if you would like to audition but are unavailable to do so during any of the above times. Assume that you will be needed for your full 2 hour time slot.
    2. Prepare a 1-2 minute song showcasing your range in the style of the show. Please bring a recorded backing track.
    3. Be prepared to learn a short dance routine with a group. Wear clothes you can move in.
    4. Complete the audition form as noted above.
    5. If you need special accommodations for auditions (i.e. unable to attend audition dates, disability accommodations, etc ), please contact our team at whitechristmas@svct.org.

Audition Tips

  1.  Read the audition notice carefully. If you are on SVCT’s mailing list, you will have received an audition notice. It will specify what you are expected to prepare in advance–a song, a monologue, etc.–and how/whether to sign up for an audition in advance.
  2. Consider bringing a resume and head shot to the audition. If you do not, a photo will be taken of you there and you will have the opportunity to write resume details on your audition form. However, having them prepared in advance means you will have that much less to deal with at the audition.
  3. When in doubt… audition! The best way to master auditioning is to do it over and over; you’ll conquer those nerves and you’ll get to practice your acting and singing. As you become more comfortable with auditioning, you will find it easier to get into character and your acting will become more natural.
  4. Do advance homework. Whenever possible, please do a little research on the play and characters. We will typically provide you with a character breakdown in your audition packet to give you an idea of the roles you’d like to audition for. Practice how you might characterize the part you would like to play. If auditioning for a major singing role, prepare an audition  song that reflects the style and range of a song that character sings, but do not choose a song from the play for which you are auditioning. If auditioning for a non-musical drama or comedy, prepare a monologue that reflects the nature of the part for which you are auditioning or the play. (If you are auditioning for a chorus part, the previous guidelines are not as important.)
  5. Come prepared. Be on time–15 minutes early is even better. If auditioning for a musical, bring shoes you can dance in and wear comfortable (but not sloppy) clothing. Bring your music accompaniment tracks on your phone or other device.  If you have them, bring a resume (preferably on a single sheet of paper) and/or a head shot. If you will be delivering a monologue, bring a copy.
  6. Relax and enjoy the experience!
