Limelight

Limelight provides a unique theater experience for our audiences. We present a variety of quality shows in an intimate cabaret-style space. Our “thrust stage” layout brings the audience even closer to the action, with seating just two tables deep, on three sides of the stage. We also are proud of our state of the art lighting system, thanks to a generous 2020 grant from the Gilroy Foundation.

.

Our “Bring Your Own Dinner & Wine” (or have it catered) offer encourages friends and to-be-friends to mingle and enjoy the ambience and camaraderie of the environment. We also offer a full bar, with a selection of beers, wines and cocktails to enjoy with dinner or during the performance. All performances are at the Gilroy Center for the Arts, 7341 Monterey Road, at the corner of 7th and Monterey Streets, in downtown Gilroy. To accommodate eating or drinking before the show, our box office opens 1 1/4 hours before curtain.

.

EFFECTIVE JANUARY 1, 2024: We will no longer be performing at the Gilroy Center for the Arts. We are actively looking for an new space in Gilroy that will offer the same artistic and patron environment.(thrust stage, cabaret style seating, options for dining and bar). As an interim measure, we have scheduled our immediate next two performances (On Golden Pond in March 2024, and the first show of the 24-25 season, scheduled to open in August 2024) to be performed at the Morgan Hill Community Playhouse. Thank you for your patience as we work to improve our patron experience!

Covid-19 Statement

.

At the Morgan Hill Community Playhouse and Limelight in Gilroy, South Valley Civic Theatre (SVCT) is taking precautions against Covid-19. We take the health of our cast, staff and patrons very seriously. All involved must remain healthy for the show to go on. Thank you for your consideration!
.
Our cast and staff are all vaccinated. Vaccinations by our audience members are highly recommended but not required.  However, the Playhouse and Limelight are public indoor spaces with patrons in close proximity to one another. SVCT continues to highly encourage all patrons to wear a mask inside the theater and theater lobby areas unless actively drinking or eating.

.

We count on our audience members to self-monitor. If you experience Covid-19 symptoms or receive a positive Covid-19 test, please alert our Box Office volunteers at boxoffice@SVCT.org and/or call 408-842-7469 at least three (3) hours before curtain so we can exchange your tickets.

.

SVCT will review its Covid-19 Statement for each of its shows to align with the State of California and Santa Clara County mandates and recommendations.

Your Hosts

Emily is thrilled to carry on the tradition of quality dinner theater entertainment that Kevin Heath and Alan Obata established and provided for 9 years and to work to build on the amazing work that Robin Bezanson did for Limelight’s most recent seasons.  Emily is a life-long theater lover and has been involved in all aspects of the “front of house” in dozens of local productions over the past few years as she supports her daughters in their on-stage and theater tech adventures.  She’s excited to be a part of the Limelight family and to continue to help to provide a relaxed atmosphere and entertaining shows for new and returning audiences.
